Overview
The Campaign Television Advertisement Project helps researchers access one of the largest (and most complete) archives of campaign advertisements. Building upon the Julian P. Kanter Political Commercial Archive at the University of Oklahoma, this website will allow researchers to query these ads for many things related to social science research. To begin your search, please click on the
Data tab at the top of your screen. Researchers can currently access information about 9,707 presidential advertisements, beginning in 1912 and ending in 2012. In the future, we will provide access to 100,000 political commercials from up and down the ticket. Some examples of these ads are provided below.
